Gifts Of God

Salvation is the gift of God and everything connected to God*s salvation is the gift of God.

2 Peter 1:3: According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

Psalms 104:24 O LORD, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.

Romans 12:3: For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Romans 6:23: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Ephesians 2:8: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

1 John 5:11: And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

Romans 5:17: For if by one man*s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

Romans 2:4: Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Faith is the gift of God, salvation is the gift of God, eternal life is the gift of God, righteousness is the gift of God, He leads us to repentance and Jesus is the gift of God. Can you think of anything relevant to salvation that is not a gift of God?

Joshua 24:15: And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

When we receive Jesus are we not choosing a gift of God rather than His judgment?

Romans 12:1: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Romans 8:1: There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

When we present ourselves to the Lord are we not choosing His mercy instead of His condemnation?

Hebrews 12:6: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

When He chastens us does He not give us the peaceable fruit of righteousness?

When we receive Jesus and when we thereafter obey Him are we not choosing His will rather than our own?

Romans 6:17: But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

If He is to be thanked for something it must have been a gift from Him too. Is not an opportunity stop serving sin and obey Him from the heart a precious gift from Him? I must choose to stop sinning and obey Him and I must receive His help and His gifts many times every day. I must be thankful to Him all day every day.

One of Strong*s definitions for grace: the divine influence upon the heart, including gratitude.

Ephesians 4:11: And he gave some, . . . pastors and teachers;

A question for any church skippers out there: Is it ever wise to avoid pastors and teachers? Is it ever wise to reject any gift of God?
